Langrigg Hall

History
The hall was reconstructed by Thomas Bawis in the mid-18th century.{{Cite web|url=http://www.cumbriacountyhistory.org.uk/township/langrigg-and-mealrigg|title=Langrigg and Mealrigg|access-date=16 October 2013|publisher= Cumbria County History Organization}} John Barwis (1775–1818), who was also Rector of Niton in the Isle of Wight, was one of its prominent owners,{{cite book|title=The Gentleman's Magazine|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=zmI3AQAAMAAJ&pg=PA226|year=1840|publisher=F. Jeffries|page=226}} and his son William Barwis,{{sfn|Burke|Burke|1847|p=63}} was still in possession of Langrigg manor in 1860.{{sfn|Whellan|1860|p=216}} In 1876, its ownership changed to Joseph Bowerbank of Cockermouth.
