Leah Howell is an American politician who is currently serving as a member of the Kansas House of Representatives for the 82nd district. Howell served the duration of Carpenter's leave of absence, which is expected to last the length of the 2022 legislative session. Carpenter will reassume his legislative duties at the end of his military service. Howell was elected on January 8, 2022, and took office on January 10, 2022, when the legislative session convenes.
