Lecokia is a monotypic genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Apiaceae.{{cite web |title=Lecokia DC. {{!}} Plants of the World Online {{!}} Kew Science |url=https://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:40165-1 |website=Plants of the World Online |access-date=24 May 2021 |language=en}} It just contains one species, Lecokia cretica (Lam.) DC.
It is native to Cyprus, the East Aegean Islands, Iran, Crete, Lebanon, Palestine, South Caucasus (of Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan), Syria, and Turkey.

The Latin specific epithet of cretica means "coming from Crete, where the plant was found.{{cite book | last=Harrison |first=Lorraine | title=RHS Latin for Gardeners | year=2012 |publisher=Mitchell Beazley | location=United Kingdom | isbn=978-1845337315 }}
Both the genus and the species were first described and published in Coll. Mém. Vol.5 on page 67 in 1829.
