Lee Tae-ho ({{Korean|hangul=이태호|hanja=李泰昊}}; {{IPA|ko|i.tʰɛ̝.ɦo}}; born January 29, 1961) is a South Korean former professional footballer who played as a forward.{{Cite web |url=https://www.rsssf.org/miscellaneous/skor-recintlp.html |title=Appearances for South Korea in Rssf.com |access-date=2 February 2023 |archive-date=10 July 2022 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20220710163228/https://www.rsssf.org/miscellaneous/skor-recintlp.html |url-status=live }} He spent his entire career playing for the Daewoo Royals. In the history of the FIFA World Cup, he was the first player to be blind in one eye.{{cite news |url=https://www.ole.com.ar/fuera-de-juego/30-anos-record-increible-mundiales_0_kwg232l5E.html |title=A 30 años de un récord increíble en los Mundiales |publisher=Olé |language=es |date=2020-06-12 |access-date=2022-05-02 |archive-date=2 May 2022 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20220502164646/https://www.ole.com.ar/fuera-de-juego/30-anos-record-increible-mundiales_0_kwg232l5E.html |url-status=live }}

International career

Before starting his professional career, he was the first South Korean to score at the FIFA World Youth Championship. His goal came against Canada at the 1979 tournament. Afterwards, he was called the "Korean Gerd Müller" for his scoring ability. He contributed to South Korea's gold medal at the 1986 Asian Games. During the K-League match against POSCO Atoms, his right eye was injured in 1987 after Nam Ki-young hit him in Lee's face with his foot, resulting in the latter losing his sight. However, his blindness was not enough to stop his performance. He became the top goalscorer in the 1988 AFC Asian Cup and participated at the 1990 FIFA World Cup.
