History
In 1955, while levelling a hill to construct the Lei Cheng Uk Resettlement Area, workers discovered an ancient brick tomb dating to the Eastern Han dynasty (25{{ndash}}220CE). A total of 58 pottery and bronze objects were found inside the tomb. The site is now the Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum.{{Cite web |url=http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/CE/Museum/Monument/en/monuments_35.php |title=Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum |access-date=2009-07-17 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20180615171425/http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/ce/Museum/Monument/en/monuments_35.php |archive-date=2018-06-15 |url-status=dead }}[http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/ce/Museum/History/en/lcuht_exhibition1.php Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb] {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20081205193645/http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/CE/Museum/History/en/lcuht_exhibition1.php |date=2008-12-05 }}[http://travelblog.savvy-cafe.com/hong-kong-lei-cheng-uk-han-tomb-2007-03-16/ Hong Kong – Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb] {{webarchive|url=https://archive.today/20120717144102/http://travelblog.savvy-cafe.com/hong-kong-lei-cheng-uk-han-tomb-2007-03-16/ |date=2012-07-17 }}
In 1956, during Double Ten Day celebrations, a government officer ordered that a Republic of China flag be removed from the Lei Cheng Uk estate. This escalated into the Hong Kong 1956 riots, where Pro-ROC camp and pro-Communists clashed.
