Lenyn José Sosa (born January 25, 2000) is a Venezuelan professional baseball infielder for the Chicago White Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB).
Career
Sosa signed with the Chicago White Sox as an international free agent on July 2, 2016.{{cite web | url=https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/2016-international-reviews-chicago-white-sox/ | title=2016 International Reviews: Chicago White Sox | date=March 29, 2017 }} Sosa made his professional debut with the rookie-level Arizona League White Sox in 2017, hitting .270/.330/.359 in 42 games. In 2018, Sosa played for the rookie-level Great Falls Voyagers, batting .294/.317/.406 with 4 home runs, 35 RBI, and 2 stolen bases. For the 2019 season, Sosa played with the Single-A Kannapolis Intimidators, where he hit .252/.292/.371 with 7 home runs and 51 RBI across 122 games.
Sosa did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.{{Cite web|title=2020 Minor League Baseball season cancelled|url=https://www.mlb.com/news/2020-minor-league-baseball-season-canceled|access-date=March 18, 2023|website=mlb.com|language=en}} He split the 2021 season between the High-A Winston-Salem Dash and Double-A Birmingham Barons, hitting .271/.300/.401 with 11 home runs and 56 RBI across 117 games. Sosa was assigned to Double-A Birmingham to begin the 2022 season.
