Lidanus was a Benedictine abbot credited with draining the Pontine Marshes, Italy, and for founding{{cite web |title=St. Lidanus |url=http://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=4286 |publisher=Catholic.org |accessdate=6 July 2009 }} Sezze Abbey in the Papal States.
