Career

Lin was picked for the Hainan provincial team in 2015.{{cite web|url=https://new.qq.com/rain/a/20231013A0ASBQ00|title=祝贺!海南小将林诗栋夺得全锦赛男单冠军|website=qq.com|language=zh|date=13 October 2023|access-date=12 March 2024}} After winning the singles title at the national youth championships in 2020, Lin joined the Chinese national second team. He is the first person from Hainan province to be a member of the Chinese national team.

In 2022, Lin was promoted to the national first team.
