A quarry on Lissoughter's southern slopes (the Lissoughter-Derryclare quarry, named after the peak and the neighbouring Derryclare mountain), is a noted source of the green-coloured Connemara marble (sometimes called Connemara Lissoughter Marble).{{cite web|url=https://marbleguide.com/marble/connemarble-green-irish-marble/|title=CONNEMARBLE GREEN Irish marble|publisher=MarbleGuide.com | accessdate=13 August 2019 | quote=Connemarble Green is a green marble from Ireland (Derryclare, Lissoughter, Recess, Co.
