This is a list of San Francisco Designated Landmarks. In 1967, the city of San Francisco, California, adopted Article 10 of the Planning Code, providing the city with the authority to designate and protect landmarks from inappropriate alterations. As of June 2024, the city had designated 318 structures or other properties as San Francisco Designated Landmarks.{{cite web |title=Appendix A to Article 10: List of designated landmarks |url=https://codelibrary.amlegal.com/codes/san_francisco/latest/sf_planning/0-0-0-28058 |access-date=3 November 2022 |work=San Francisco Planning Code |publisher=American Legal Publishing Corporation}} Many of the properties have also received recognition at the federal level by inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places or by designation as National Historic Landmarks.{{cite web|title=City of San Francisco Designated Landmarks|publisher=City of San Francisco|url=http://www.sf-planning.org/Modules/ShowDocument.aspx?documentid=5081|access-date=2012-09-27|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20140325040805/http://sf-planning.org/Modules/ShowDocument.aspx?documentid=5081|archive-date=2014-03-25|url-status=dead}}
