Reception

Booklist's Michael Cart provided a positive review, stating, "Plett writes extremely well, creating a mood and tone that match Wendy’s dark emotions and uncertainties. This character-driven novel is a welcome addition to the slender body of transgender fiction."{{Cite book|last=Cart|first=Michael|date=2018-04-27|title=Little Fish|url=https://www.booklistonline.com/Little-Fish-Casey-Plett/pid=9500965|access-date=2022-01-14|via=Booklist}}
