Local Biodiversity Action Plan

In the United Kingdom a local biodiversity action plan (LBAP, pronounced 'ell-bap') is a plan aimed at conserving the fauna, flora and habitats – collectively referred to as biodiversity – of a defined area, usually along local authority boundary lines.{{Cite web |title=Background to Biodiversity Action Plans {{!}} Brecon Beacons National Park Authority |url=https://www.beacons-npa.gov.uk/environment/getting-involved/the-local-biodiveristy-action-plan/what-is-a-local-biodiversity-action-plan/ |access-date=2023-04-10 |language=en-gb}}{{cite web |url=http://www.ccw.gov.uk/landscape--wildlife/habitats--species/uk-biodiversity-action-plan/local-biodiversity-action-plan.aspx?lang=en |title=Local Biodiversity Action Plan - Countryside Council for Wales |accessdate=2012-01-22 |url-status=dead |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20150115011842/http://www.ccw.gov.uk/landscape--wildlife/habitats--species/uk-biodiversity-action-plan/local-biodiversity-action-plan.aspx?lang=en |archivedate=2015-01-15 }}

The development of such plans at a local level is guided by the publication of a biodiversity action plan at national i.e. UK level and executed locally by 'biodiversity partnerships' which include key stakeholders from different sectors.{{Cite web|url=http://www.naturalengland.org.uk/ourwork/conservation/biodiversity/protectandmanage/ukactionplan.aspx|title = UK Post-2010 Biodiversity Framework | JNCC - Adviser to Government on Nature Conservation}}
