Long Key Awards (also Long Key or Long Key International Film Awards (LKIFA)) is an annual film award ceremony. The award was established in 2020.{{Cite news |title=O29 Production |url=https://www.o29.pro/projects/events/ |work=Events {{!}} Projects {{!}} O29 Production |publication-date=2025-04-05}} The film awards are organized by O29 Production.

History

The award was established in April 2020. The film award includes feature, documentary and animated full-length and short films from around the world. The results of the first international film award were summed up on October 12, 2020.{{Cite news |date=2020-10-12 |title=Long Key Awards |url=https://longkeyawards.com/news/12-10-2020/ |work=The results of the first international film festival LKIFF 2020 have been summed up |publication-date=2025-04-05}}

In the second season, the film award also considered film scripts, but from the third season, the organizers decided to abandon this idea.

In 2021 the film award introduced two new nominations for short film actors: Best Actor in a Short Film and Best Actress in a Short Film.

The film award was initially called the Leonid Khromov International Film Festival in honor of the project's founder Leonid Khromov, but since 2023 it has changed its name to the current one.

The film award was founded in the midst of the pandemic, so the organizers decided to hold several seasons of the film award in online{{Cite web |title=Instagram |url=https://www.instagram.com/p/CGNyPDDArhX/ |access-date=2025-04-05 |website=www.instagram.com}} and hybrid formats.

Since the inception of the film award, films from 64 countries{{Cite web |last=Kotzathanasis |first=Panos |date=2024-10-14 |title=Indian thriller Fear wins top prize at Long Key Awards 2024 |url=https://asianmoviepulse.com/2024/10/indian-thriller-fear-wins-top-prize-at-long-key-awards-2024-in-new-york/ |access-date=2025-04-05 |website=Asian Movie Pulse |language=en-US}} have participated in it. The film awards have already included films starring famous actors and actresses who have become laureates and nominees, such as: Andrew Scott, Jeremy Irvine, Vedhika Kumar and others.

Founder of the film award Leonid Khromov announced that the 6th Long Key Awards could take place in the autumn of 2025 in New York City, which would be broadcast online to the whole world.

Starting in 2025{{Cite web |title=Instagram |url=https://www.instagram.com/p/DIEoUqtMX_X/ |access-date=2025-04-05 |website=www.instagram.com}} the film award also plans to reward the creators of music videos. "Many music videos today are almost short films. So why not reward such works?", — this is what the founder of the film award Leonid Khromov thinks.
