Reception

Dennis Harvey of Variety gave the film a negative review, writing that the film "emerges far more redolent of composite fiction cliches (...) than it does credible experience. The fault lies somewhat with execution that remains stubbornly theatrical..."{{cite magazine|last=Harvey|first=Dennis|title=Lost in the Pershing Point Hotel|date=July 17, 2000|magazine=Variety|url=https://variety.com/2000/film/reviews/lost-in-the-pershing-point-hotel-1200463412/|accessdate=October 2, 2022}}

Kevin Thomas of the Los Angeles Times also gave the film a negative review and wrote that the film "could stand as a textbook example of how not to bring a play to the screen."{{cite news|last=Thomas|first=Kevin|title=Ingenuity Is Lost on This 'Hotel'|date=December 7, 2001|newspaper=Los Angeles Times|url=https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-2001-dec-07-et-thomas7-story.html|accessdate=October 2, 2022}}
