It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Lubsza.{{TERYT}} It lies approximately {{convert|7|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} north-east of Brzeg and {{convert|41|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} north-west of the regional capital Opole.
