Lugalo

Lugalo is a village in Tanzania near Iringa which in 1891 was the site of a battle in which a German colonial military force under Emil von Zelewski was decisively defeated and almost annihilated by the Hehe army of Chief Mkwawa.{{Cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=Dh6jydKXikoC&pg=PA604|title=Dictionary of Battles and Sieges: F-O|last=Jaques|first=Tony|date=2007|publisher=Greenwood Publishing Group|isbn=9780313335389|pages=604|language=en}} This was the first major defeat for the German Schutztruppe and the beginning of the Hehe wars.
