Lupinball is a multiplayer bullet hell dodgeball video game developed and published by Craftven for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. It was released on 17 August 2017.
Gameplay
Lupinball is a multiplayer bullet hell dodgeball video game for up to four players. Players play as one of seven different wolves, each with their own coloured magic fireballs. The game plays similar to dodgeball, with opposing teams collecting orbs around the playing field in order to shoot fireballs to hit and eliminate the opposing team's players.{{Cite web |url=https://www.cnet.com/pictures/multipax-multiplayer-mayhem-at-pax-australia/6/ |title=MultiPAX: Multiplayer mayhem at PAX Australia (pictures) |last=Starr |first=Michelle |website=CNET |language=en |access-date=2019-04-14 |archive-date=14 April 2019 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190414175958/https://www.cnet.com/pictures/multipax-multiplayer-mayhem-at-pax-australia/6/ |url-status=live }} After being shot, fireballs keep bouncing around the edge of the arena and speed up over time. Players are not affected by their own coloured fireballs, and orbs can also be used to shield from the other team's fireballs. Players earn points for winning individual rounds, and a player wins the match by winning a set number of rounds.{{Cite web|last=Prell|first=Sam|url=http://www.gamesradar.com/the-future-of-local-multiplayer-is-strong-and-heres-four-party-games-to-prove-it/|publisher=Future plc|title=The future of local multiplayer is strong, and here's four party games to prove it|website=GamesRadar|date=1 February 2017|language=en|access-date=10 November 2017|archive-date=1 December 2017|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20171201040210/http://www.gamesradar.com/the-future-of-local-multiplayer-is-strong-and-heres-four-party-games-to-prove-it/|url-status=live}}{{Cite web |url=http://arcadesushi.com/lupinball-semispheres-graveball-orwell-pax-south-2017/ |last=Leboeuf |first=Sarah |title=PAX South 2017: Indie Game Round-Up |website=Arcade Sushi |date=14 February 2017 |access-date=10 November 2017 |archive-date=1 December 2017 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20171201041018/http://arcadesushi.com/lupinball-semispheres-graveball-orwell-pax-south-2017/ |url-status=live }}
Development
Michael Ventnor, the head of Craftven, came up with the idea of Lupinball during PAX Australia 2014. He told Player2 the idea came about after canning a different idea stemming from playing Firestriker, to which his friends described as "[reinventing] Lethal League", which was unknown to him.{{Cite web |url=https://player2.net.au/2015/10/paxaus-2015-indie-showcase-lupinball/ |author=Stephen del Prado |title=PAXAUS 2015 Indie Showcase - Lupinball |date=25 October 2015 |website=Player2.net.au |archive-url=https://archive.today/20171111041300/https://player2.net.au/2015/10/paxaus-2015-indie-showcase-lupinball/ |archive-date=11 November 2017 |access-date=10 November 2017 |url-status=dead |df=dmy-all }}
