Career

=As artist=

Venieri is well known{{cite web |url=https://www.idconceptstores.com/Designer/lydia-venieri/|title=i-D Concept Stores|accessdate=2012-08-01 }}

for her evocative sculpture installations which bridge mythology with current events, and for her ability to combine humor with self-reflection on human conditions in our times, through her characters that are taken from mythology, history, fairy tales and daily life. In her stories dreams reinforce reality and reality reinforce dreams.

The provocative visualizations of the universe of Venieri's work offer a Potnian statement about the world in flux in which we live.

She has had many exhibitions around the world.{{cite web|url=http://www.stuxgallery.com/site/www/artist_gallery/27|title=The Last Conflict, Stux Gallery, New York|publisher=Stux Gallery.com|accessdate=2012-08-01|url-status=dead|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120306213458/http://www.stuxgallery.com/site/www/artist_gallery/27|archivedate=2012-03-06}}{{cite web|url=http://www.melt.gr/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=134&Itemid=2&lang=en|title=The Bathhouse of the Winds, Athens|publisher=Melt.gr|date=2011-02-27|accessdate=2012-08-01|url-status=dead|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20120321111959/http://www.melt.gr/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=134&Itemid=2&lang=en|archivedate=2012-03-21}}

She has been noted as;

{{blockquote|"Lydia Venieri erects entire mythologies and symbolic systems from the already phantasmagoric world of news media. Her stories are played out using dolls and childlike imagery to counter media dementia, in painting, drawing, photography, video and the internet. Theogony explicates Venieri's universe surveying two decades of work; work of one of the most celebrated and visionary Greek artists of our time."}}

She currently shows with Stux Gallery in New York, Gallery Quang in Paris, Galleri S.E in Norway, Tokyo Terra in Japan and Gallery Isabel Aninat in Chile.
