Overview
LyteShot used augmented reality with mobile phones and augmented reality smartglasses for interactive gameplay. The website is down and the last update was in 2016, although Twitter and Facebook accounts still exist. The platform integrated sensor-based hardware which wirelessly connects to users’ mobile devices and with the Internet of Things (IoT) to share in-game data via the cloud. The platform's sensor-based peripherals connect with mobile phones to bring multi-player digital alternate reality game or first-person shooter gameplay into the real world {{cite web |last=Sears|first=Connor|url=http://www.gamenguide.com/articles/15083/20141111/lyteshot-game-peripheral-looks-to-combine-args-with-first-person-shooters.htm |title=LyteShot Game Peripheral Looks To Combine ARGs With First-Person Shooters|date=November 11, 2014 |publisher=GamenGuide|accessdate=January 2, 2015}}{{cite web |last=Stettner|first=Jason|url=https://gamerheadquarters.com/articles/lyteshot-interview.html|title=LyteShot interview - Gamerheadquarters|date=December 8, 2014 |publisher=Gamerheadquarters|accessdate=January 4, 2015}} which adds digital components to live-action games.{{cite web |last=Born |first=Kathryn|url=http://www.builtinchicago.org/blog/indie-products-chicago-fall-2013 |title=Indie Products from Chicago - Fall 2013 |date=October 22, 2013 |publisher=Built in Chicago|accessdate=January 2, 2015}}
