History
After Magnet was sold and was then merged into Eastwest Records in the UK, Levy set up M&G Records with backing from Polygram. The name "M&G Records" was derived from the initials of both Levy's first name and that of his wife Gilda. M&G was sold in October 1997 for an undisclosed sum and folded into the main Polydor Records label.{{cite web | url = http://www.allbusiness.com/retail-trade/miscellaneous-retail-retail-stores-not/4403155-1.html | title = U.K.'s M&G Records Sold to BMG; Chief Steps Down | last1 = Sexton | first1 = P. | last2 = Horowitz | first2 = C. | date = 10 October 1997 | work = "Billboard" Bulletin | publisher = AllBusiness.com | accessdate = 21 August 2011}} Its most successful act was "Sunshine on a Rainy Day" singer Zoe.
