The Machilipatnam Urban Development Authority (MUDA) is a special urban planning authority.{{cite web|title=DTCP - Andhra Pradesh|url=http://www.dtcp.ap.gov.in/webdtcp/uda.html|website=www.dtcp.ap.gov.in|accessdate=3 November 2016}} It was constituted on 1 February 2016, under Andhra Pradesh Urban Areas (Development) Act 1975. Jurisdiction
The MUDA covers a jurisdictional area of {{convert|426.16|sqkm|abbr = on}} which includes, Machilipatnam Municipal Corporation, 27 villages from Machilipatnam mandal and a lone village from Pedana mandal.
