Mackay Street (officially in {{langx|fr|rue Mackay}}) is a street located in downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Mackay Street is a one-way street, that begins at Sherbrooke Street West, travels southbound and ends at Overdale Avenue, just south of René Lévesque Boulevard.

Mackay Street is named for James Mackay (1760-1822), a trader and explorer for the North West Company who arrived in Montreal in 1776.{{cite web|url=http://www.toponymie.gouv.qc.ca/CT/toposweb/fiche.aspx?no_seq=214336|title=Rue Mackay|date=2009-12-11|work=Les rues de Montréal : répertoire historique, 1995.|publisher=Commission de toponymie du Québec|language=French|accessdate=26 February 2010}}

The street is located in the heart of Concordia University's downtown Sir George Williams Campus, otherwise known as the Quartier Concordia.

In April 2009, Concordia University issued a press release calling for proposals on a project that would see part of Mackay Street between Sherbrooke and De Maisonneuve Boulevard turned into a green space for use by students during the summer.{{cite news|url=http://news.concordia.ca/notices/014557.shtml|title=The Greening of Mackay – Call for Project Proposals|last=Morey|first=Elizabeth|date=2009-04-15|work=News and Events|publisher=Concordia University|accessdate=2009-04-25|url-status=dead|archiveurl=https://archive.today/20130115101712/http://news.concordia.ca/notices/014557.shtml|archivedate=2013-01-15}} The proposal angered local area merchants and residents, who formed a petition to halt the project. They cited the loss of 45 parking spaces, and the potential for student partying in the street.{{cite news|url=https://montrealgazette.com/Mackay+merchants+fight+back+against+Concordia+summer+greening+plan/1528320/story.html|title=Mackay St. merchants fight back against Concordia's summer 'greening' plan|last=RAVENSBERGEN|first=JAN|date=2009-04-24|publisher=The Gazette (Montreal)|accessdate=2009-04-25}} {{Dead link|date=October 2010|bot=H3llBot}} The project has been put on hold, according to the university.{{cite web|url=http://news.concordia.ca/notices/014675.shtml |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20090517012602/http://news.concordia.ca/notices/014675.shtml |url-status=dead |archive-date=2009-05-17 |title=University puts greening of Mackay on hold |work=News and Events |publisher=Concordia University |accessdate=2009-05-02 }}
