History
Made began performing at clubs in Toronto in 1994, and recorded two independent albums: Rumball and Big Brother. The first of these was released in late 1993 and cost about $300 to record. In 1995, they landed a deal with MCA Records. This resulted in MCA releasing their third album and major-label debut, Bedazzler, on January 28, 1997 in Canada. The album was re-released on January 29, 1997 on Universal Music Canada, and on May 20, 1997 on MCA in the United States.{{cite magazine | url=https://books.google.com/books?id=zA4EAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA50 | title='Bedazzler' is MAdE for Universal | magazine=Billboard | date=1 February 1997 | accessdate=24 April 2016 | author=LeBlanc, Larry | pages=50}}{{cite web | url=http://www.allmusic.com/album/bedazzler-mw0000023191 | title=Bedazzler Review | work=Allmusic | accessdate=24 April 2016 | author=Parisien, Roch}}{{cite magazine | url=https://books.google.com/books?id=1Q4EAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA54 | title=Universal Music enjoys sales surge | magazine=Billboard | date=29 March 1997 | accessdate=24 April 2016 | author=LeBlanc, Larry}} Writing for the Sun-Sentinel, Toni Birghenthal described the album as "fabulously put together and simply presented."{{cite web | url=http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/1997-08-08/entertainment/9707290175_1_band-chorus-lyrics | archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160602134851/http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/1997-08-08/entertainment/9707290175_1_band-chorus-lyrics | url-status=dead | archive-date=June 2, 2016 | title=Tonic Off To Bubbling Start With 'Lemon Parade' | work=Sun-Sentinel | date=8 August 1997 | accessdate=24 April 2016 | author=Weinroth, Marc}}
