Considered one of the strongest cyclists in triathlon, Ditlev's first professional victory was in 2020 at the Ironman 70.3 Gdynia.{{cite web | url=https://stats.protriathletes.org/athlete/magnus-elbaek-ditlev | title=Magnus Ditlev | work=stats.protriathletes.org | accessdate=11 March 2024}} The following year, Ditlev won two more races: the Challenge Budva and Ironman 70.3 Cascais. He won bronze medals at the 2022 Ironman 70.3 World Championships and the 2023 Ironman World Championship.
