History

The village was originally part of the Bhor State, under the rule of the Pantsachiv Kings. In the 1590s, majority of the land in the village was given to the Agashe gharana, as vassals to the Pantsachiv rulers, as they were occupied as the savkars (money lenders/bankers) under the Pantsachiv Kings of the Kingdom.{{cite book|last=Rānaḍe|first=Sadāśiva Bhāskara|year=1974|title=Cittapāvana Kauśika Gotrī Āgāśe-Kula-vr̥ttānta|trans-title=The Agashe Family Genealogy belonging to the Chitpavan Kaushik Gotra|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=RstWAAAAMAAJ|language=mr |edition=1st|location=Pune|publisher=University of Michigan|lccn=74903020|oclc=600048059|author-link=Sadashiv Ranade|page=मांगदरी घराण्याचे इतिहास}}{{cite book|last1=Agashe|first1=Trupti|last2=Agashe|first2=Gopal|editor1-last=Wad|editor1-first=Mugdha|title=Agashe Kulvrutant|trans-title=The Agashe Family Genealogy|chapter=Mangdari Gharana|chapter-url=http://chitpavanagashepariwar.org.in/all_in_a_gharane2_06.php|trans-chapter=The House of Mangdari|date=2006|publisher=Surbhi Graphics|location=Hyderabad|edition=2nd|url=http://chitpavanagashepariwar.org.in|language=Marathi|isbn=978-1-5323-4500-5|access-date=2018-09-21|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20180915001725/http://chitpavanagashepariwar.org.in/|archive-date=2018-09-15|url-status=live}}
