Manko Taxawu Sénégal
{{short description|Political coalition in Senegal}}
The Manko Taxawu Sénégal (Wolof: "Coalition for the Revival of Senegal") is a group of several political parties organised to contest the 2017 Senegalese legislative elections. The coalition was originally intended to form a unified opposition list to challenge President Macky Sall's Benno Bokk Yakaar coalition, but negotiations among key opposition figures broke down over disputes on whether former President Abdoulaye Wade or imprisoned former Mayor of Dakar, Khalifa Sall, would head the list.{{Cite news|url=http://www.jeuneafrique.com/443423/politique/legislatives-senegalaises-coalition-de-lopposition-implose-abdoulaye-wade-retour/|title=Législatives sénégalaises : la coalition de l’opposition implose, Abdoulaye Wade sur le retour – JeuneAfrique.com|date=2017-05-30|work=JeuneAfrique.com|access-date=2018-05-18|language=fr-FR}} Wade instead led his own coalition, Mako Wattu Senegal, into the election.
The coalition was organised and principally led by Khalifa Sall, who broke away from the Socialist Party, and former Prime Minister Idrissa Seck with his party Rewmi.{{Cite news|url=https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-40744806|title=Senegal election: Veteran Wade at 91 seeks seat|date=2017-07-28|work=BBC News|access-date=2018-05-18|language=en-GB}} The coalition came third in the 2017 parliamentary election, winning 7 seats.{{Cite web|url=http://www.electionguide.org/elections/id/2707/|title=IFES Election Guide {{!}} Elections: National Assembly|website=www.electionguide.org|language=en|access-date=2018-05-18}} In 2020 following the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak Idrissa Seck and his party left the coalition to join back Macky Sall's presidential majority in the hope to work on a joint plan to fight the pandemic.{{cite web |last=Aidara |first=Cheikhou |url=https://www.seneweb.com/news/Politique/presidence-cese-macky-nomme-idrissa-seck_n_332454.html |title=Présidence CESE : Macky nomme Idrissa Seck |trans-title=CESE presidency: Macky appoints Idrissa Seck |language=fr |date=1 November 2020 |access-date=2 September 2022 |work=Seneweb}}
