Bowls career

In 2018, he won the World Indoor Open Pairs title with Jamie Chestney.{{cite web|url=https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/bowls/42458595|title=Chestney & Dawes win Pairs Final|publisher=BBC Sport |date=22 January 2018}} and then followed this by taking the World Open Singles Championship, defeating Robert Paxton in a hard fought final.
