Martock is an unincorporated community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in the West Hants Regional Municipality.
The namesake of the community is Martock House, which was the original estate in the area. The Georgian style mansion was built in 1790 by Col. John Butler of England and originally boasted more than {{convert|4000|acre|km2}} of land. Butler was given the estate and a number of slaves by George III and would name the estate for his birthplace of Martock, England.{{cite web|title=Place-names and Places of Nova Scotia|url=https://novascotia.ca/archives/places/page.asp?ID=418|website=Nova Scotia Archives|publisher=Province of Nova Scotia|accessdate=15 September 2017}}{{cite book|last1=Hamiton|first1=William Baillie|title=Place Names of Atlantic Canada|date=1996|publisher=University of Toronto Press|isbn=0802075703|edition=illustrated, reprint|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=UAvyE0pN5akC|accessdate=15 September 2017}} The home was owned by the Sweet family through much of the 19th and all of the 20th century.{{cite web |url=http://www.ancestry.com/genealogy/records/edward-butler-sweet_22740453 |title=Ancestry.com |publisher=Ancestry.com |accessdate=December 26, 2015}}
