It was the first song released from the band's debut album, The Boomtown Rats, though the single version is a re-recording different from the album track and 19 seconds longer. On French and Dutch releases, the single's A-side was "Do the Rat", which was the B-side of the UK version.{{cite web|url=http://www.boomtownrats.co.uk/the-boomtown-rats/discography.html |title=The Boomtown Rats Discography |publisher=Boomtownrats.co.uk |date= |accessdate=2014-04-09}} The song's theme, concerning a teacher's sexual attraction to a teenage girl who acts in a sexually provocative manner, resonated in the Police song "Don't Stand So Close to Me".{{cite web|url=http://www.boomtownrats.co.uk/the-boomtown-rats/record-reviews/39-boomtown-rats-record-reviews/90-the-boomtown-rats-self-titled-album-review.html |title=(self-titled) Album Review |publisher=The Boomtown Rats |date= |accessdate=2014-04-09}}
