Masood pursued academic studies and professional courses from Lawrence College, Wye College, University of York, American University, University of Colorado Boulder the World Bank and IMF, Washington. He has also been a Hubert Humphrey Fellow at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin, US. Following the earthquake of 2005 Masood oversaw the relief work of SRSP followed by its reconstruction of 62,000 houses.
