Matthew James Turner is a British chess grandmaster.

Biography

In 2000, Turner appeared on series 43 of the British game show Countdown, where he finished as runner-up.{{cite web|url=http://www.thecountdownpage.com/exp-kevin-thurlow.htm|title=Kevin Thurlow's Experience}}

In July 2016, Turner won the Scottish Chess Championship with a score of 7.5/9.{{cite web|url=https://whodbe.blogspot.com/2016/07/scottish-championships-2016-and-finally.html|title=Scottish Championships 2016 - And finally…|date=July 17, 2016}} He would later win the championship again in 2019.
