The Mearns is one of the nineteen wards used to elect members of the Aberdeenshire Council. It elects four Councillors.
It takes its name from the Mearns, an old name for the former Kincardineshire (from the Scottish Gaelic {{lang|gd|A' Mhaoirne}} meaning "the Stewartry").
