History

It serves Mecheda town. It is a major railway station between Howrah and Kharagpur. Special EMU trains are available here, and local EMU trains Howrah–Panskura, Howrah–Balichak, Howrah–Kharagpur, Howrah–Medinipur, Howrah–Haldia stop here.
