Meda is a village in Shahkot in Jalandhar district of Punjab State, India. It is located {{convert|17|km}} from Shahkot, {{convert|25|km}} from Nakodar, {{convert|45|km}} from district headquarter Jalandhar and {{convert|179|km}} from state capital Chandigarh. The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is an elected representative of village as per Panchayati raj (India). Before India's independence, Baba Santa Singh was elected Sarpanch Unanimously of the area, who governed this village for more than 25 years. He was a goldsmith and landowner. Nambardar of the village for almost similar years was Sardar Basant Singh. Many residents of this village now live abroad.
