It is a mere style change I am asking for... After Wikirage, an en dash would be much better than a hyphen, in terms of both appearance and correctness (per Manual of Style). It should be, of course, spaced, as is now the hyphen. Waltham, The Duke of 08:15, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

The page linked to by [http://wikistics.falsikon.de/latest/wikipedia/en/ Most accessed pages this month] hasn't been updated in months. [http://users.student.lth.se/dt05jg2/wikitrends/en/24h.html Trends on English Wikipedia] seems to at least be maintained however, so I think that we should replace the wikistics link.

:At the moment the trends page is not generating any data. But I took a look at it yesterday and then it had data. But that page is very unclear. It doesn't explain what the criteria is for the list of articles it is showing. It doesn't seem to list the most accessed pages, but instead the pages that have had the largest increase in accesses lately. Which is a very different thing.

:So until the trends page has added a decent explanation what it is it is listing it shouldn't be added anywhere. When there is an explanation then we can look at it and discuss if it should be included.

:By the way, [http://stats.grok.se/en/top stats.grok.se/en/top] works and lists the top 1000 pages in Wikipedia. At the moment it shows December 2009, but it is usually updated every now and then. And when clicking the page names there one gets fresh detailed data. We do link to its start page, but we should perhaps also link directly to its top list?

::Hi David, I sort of forgot about this, unfortunately. I understand the criticisms of the Trends site; it's not my favorite format by any stretch of the imagination. However, it does have the distinction of being the only stats site which I am aware of that has even semi-realtime data. The current "Most accessed" page, and the stats.grok.se/en/top page that you've linked to above, both seem to be reliant on datadumps. Notice that they still haven't been updated, which puts the stats.grok.se/en/top > 3 months behind, and the current "Most accessed" page > 8 months behind (and the clock is sticking away). The other problem with them is that they give stats on everything, including hits on Special:Search, Special:Randompage, and all other pages outside of the mainspace. I guess that sort of thing can be interesting to some, but I question it's utility to those of us who may be looking for popular articles. Really though, the important thing is to just change the current "Most accessed" link to something else. It's just unprofessional to leave it the way that it currently is. If you'd prefer to use some other link (or even none at all?), then that's fine by me.

I have the option in my preferences to add a link that look like [edit] by each section name enabled. Looking at Special:Statistics, I can see those links there. The Alexa (Alexa traffic analysis for Wikipedia) link now points to a subscription page. I think the new Alexa traffic statistics page for Wikipedia is [https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/wikipedia.org this link]. The api module only tells number of jobs when using the SQL backend. Wikimedia stopped using that backend for performance reasons a while ago. I'd recommend deleting the link (The number of jobs doesn't matter, its the latency.). If you really want to keep the link, link to https://grafana.wikimedia.org/d/000000400/jobqueue-eventbus?orgId=1 instead (Its for all wikimedia, not just en wikipedia).
