Early life

Mehdi Yahyanejad was born in Iran in 1975. He attended Alborz High School and studied physics at Sharif University in Tehran. He completed his PhD in physics from MIT in 2004.{{Cite web |title=Mehran Kardar: Personnel |url=https://www.mit.edu/~kardar/research/personnel.html |access-date=2023-01-31 |website=www.mit.edu}} He was a post doctoral fellow at Stanford University conducting research on computational genetics.

Honours, and awards
