Melvin L. Douglas III (born August 21, 1963){{Cite web|url=http://www.kshof.org/inductees/2-kansas-sports-hall-of-fame/inductees/109-douglas-melvin.html|title=State Records}} of Topeka, Kansas is an American wrestler who was the 1993 World Champion, and made six World championship teams for the United States, including appearances at two Olympic games, and was a two-time NCAA Division I Champion for the University of Oklahoma. High school

In 1979, 1980 and 1981, Douglas won the Kansas state championship at Highland Park High School in Topeka, Kansas. Douglas was also a USA Junior Freestyle national champion in 1981, after his senior season of high school.

College

While at The University of Oklahoma, Douglas was a four-time All-American and won the NCAA championship in 1985 and 1986 at 177 pounds.

International
