Microchromis zebroides is a species of cichlid endemic to Lake Malawi where it is only known to occur around Likoma Island where it prefers shallow, rocky areas. This species can reach a length of {{convert|8.6|cm|in}} TL.{{cite book | author = Konings, A.F. | year = 2016 | title = Malaŵi Cichlids in their natural habitat | edition = 5th | publisher = Cichlid Press | pages = 447 | isbn = 978-1-932892-23-9 }} This species can also be found in the aquarium trade where it is known as the Mini-zebra.
