Microlicia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Melastomataceae, native to northern South America, particularly Brazil. Microlicia was first described by David Don in 1823. In 2021 Versiane et al. discovered that Microlicia was paraphyletic, and expended it to include the related genera Chaetostoma, Lavoisiera, Stenodon, and Trembleya.Versiane AFA, Romero R, Reginato M, Welker CAD, Michelangeli FA, Goldenberg R (2021) Phylogenetic analysis of Microlicieae (Melastomataceae), with emphasis on the re-circumscription of the large genus Microlicia.
