It joins the Snake River not far upstream of that river's confluence with the Red River of the North.{{cite book|author=Waters, Thomas F.|year=1977|page=107|title=The Streams and Rivers of Minnesota|location=Minneapolis|publisher=University of Minnesota Press|ISBN=0816609608}}{{GNIS|648927|Old Mill State Park}}
