{{nihongo|Mikage Station|御影駅|Mikage-eki|extra=station number: HS-25}} is a passenger railway station located in Higashinada-ku, Kobe, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. It is operated by the private transportation company Hanshin Electric Railway.{{cite book|title=兵庫の鉄道全駅 JR・三セク|trans-title=All stations in Hyogo Prefecture|language=Japanese|year=2011|publisher=Kobe Shimbun Shuppan Center|isbn=978-4-343-00602-8}}

Lines

Mikage Station is served by the Hanshin Main Line, and is located {{Convert|25.7|km|mi|abbr=off}} from the terminus of the line at {{STN|Umeda|x}}.

Layout

The station consists of two elevated island platforms serving four tracks. Part of the platform crosses the Ishiya River. Since the platforms are on a sharp curve (radius {{Convert|140|m|ft|abbr=on}} to {{Convert|160|m|ft|abbr=on}}), the speed through the premises is limited to {{Convert|35|km/h|mph|abbr=on}}. The gap between the stopped train and the platform is partially wide, and the width of the platform itself is narrow, making it a particularly dangerous station among Hanshin stations. Due to the narrow width of the platform, there is no waiting room. There is only one ticket gate on the ground level.

History

Mikage Station opened on the Hanshin Main Line on 12 April 1905.{{Cite book |title=兵庫の鉄道全駅 私鉄・公営鉄道 |publisher=Kobe Newspaper General Publishing Center |year=2012 |isbn=9784343006745 |location=Japan |language=ja |trans-title=All railway stations in Hyogo Private railways and public railways}}

It was grade-separated and elevated along with the other stations on the line in July 1929.

Service was suspended owing to the Great Hanshin earthquake in January 1995. Restoration work on the Hanshin Main Line took 7 months to complete.

Station numbering was introduced on 21 December 2013, with Mikage being designated as station number HS-25.{{Cite web |date=30 April 2014 |title=阪神「三宮」を「神戸三宮」に駅名変更のうえ、駅ナンバリングを導入し、全てのお客さまに分かりやすい駅を目指します |trans-title=After changing the station name from Hanshin "Sannomiya" to "Kobe Sannomiya", Introduced station numbering, Aiming for a station that is easy for all customers to understand |url=https://www.hankyu-hanshin.co.jp/legacy_data/ir/data/SR201304304N1.pdf |url-status=live |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20210410181812/https://www.hankyu-hanshin.co.jp/legacy_data/ir/data/SR201304304N1.pdf |archive-date=10 April 2021 |access-date=27 February 2022 |website=Hanshin News Online |language=ja |format=PDF}}
