Miss Prissy trained in classical ballet from the age of four, and was a cheerleader at school. She began to be called "Miss Prissy" because school-mates in "The Valley"{{clarify|reason=local term, needs link or explanation|date=September 2018}} were surprised that a girl from her "South Central"{{clarify|reason=local term, needs link or explanation|date=September 2018}} background was a ballet dancer and "so girly". She teaches krumping at a dance school in North Hollywood.{{cite web|title=Faculty: Miss Prissy|url=http://drdancestudio.com/faculty/miss-prissy|publisher=Debbie Reynolds Studio|accessdate=6 May 2016}}
