Mo Piu (Mơ Piu) is an unclassified Hmongic language spoken in the village of Nậm Tu Thượng, Nậm Xé Township, western Văn Bàn District, Lào Cai Province.[https://maps.google.com/maps?q=22.05,104.0166&output=kml 22.05 N, 104.0166 E] It was first documented in 2009 by a team of French linguists as part of the MICA Institute's "Au Co" Project.

Geneviève Caelen-Haumont reported 237 speakers as of 2011. She notes that Mo Piu is highly divergent from neighbouring Hmongic languages in Vietnam.{{Cite conference |last=Caelen-Haumont |first=Geneviève |date=2012 |title=Towards the Tonal System of An Unknown Language from South-East Asia: A Deeper Insight |url=https://isca-speech.org/archive/tal_2012/papers/tl12_P1-15.pdf |conference=TAL 2012 ̶ Third International Symposium on Tonal Aspects of Languages Nanjing, China, May 26–29, 2012 |language=en}}

Ly Van Tu & Vittrant (2014) tentatively classify Mo Piu as a Guiyang Miao dialect.{{Cite conference |last1=Ly Van Tu |first1=Jean-Cyrille |last2=Vittrant |first2=Alice |date=2014 |title=Place of Mơ Piu in the Hmong Group: A Proposal |url=https://www.academia.edu/11575965 |conference=Paper presented at SEALS 24, Yangon, Myanmar |language=en}}
