Mobiluncus is a genus of Gram-positive,Medical Microbiology 7th Edition, Patrick R. Murray, PhD anaerobic, rod-shaped bacteria. These bacteria may be stained either Gram-negative or Gram-variable. However, they are classified as Gram-positive rods due to the fact that they possess a Gram-positive cell wall, lack endotoxin and are sensitive to vancomycin, erythromycin and ampicillin, but resistant to colistin.Medical Microbiology 7th Edition, Patrick R. These organisms are found in the human vagina, particularly in association with Gardnerella vaginalis in cases of bacterial vaginosis.{{cite journal|last1=Clark|first1=Natalie|last2=Tal|first2=Reshef|last3=Sharma|first3=Harsha|last4=Segars|first4=James|title=Microbiota and Pelvic Inflammatory Disease|journal=Seminars in Reproductive Medicine|volume=32|issue=1|year=2014|pages=043–049|issn=1526-8004|doi=10.1055/s-0033-1361822|pmid=24390920|pmc=4148456}}{{cite journal |author=Schwebke JR, Lawing LF |title=Prevalence of Mobiluncus spp among women with and without bacterial vaginosis as detected by polymerase chain reaction |journal=Sex Transm Dis |volume=28 |issue=4 |pages=195–9 |date=April 2001 |pmid=11318249 |doi= 10.1097/00007435-200104000-00002|s2cid=25301666 |doi-access=free }}
