The community includes Mochdre, Penstrowed (which claims to be the smallest hamlet in Wales){{cite web|url=http://www.mochdrepenstrowedcommunity.net/history/ |title=History of Mochdre with Penstrowed |publisher=Mochdre with Penstrowed Community Council|access-date=16 September 2018}} and the much larger settlement of Stepaside.
