Modoc, Georgia

Modoc is an unincorporated community in Emanuel County, in the U.S. state of Georgia.{{GNIS|318380}} Modoc is located approximately {{convert|4.5|mi|km|0}} northeast of the Emanuel County seat of Swainsboro.

History

The Georgia General Assembly incorporated Modoc as a town in 1912.{{cite book|title=Acts and Resolutions of the General Assembly of the State of Georgia|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=66CNZNJzQw8C&pg=PA1145|year=1912|publisher=Clark & Hines, State Printers|page=1145}} The town's municipal charter was repealed in 1995.
