Books
Pabrai has high regard for Warren Buffett and has said that his investment style is "cloned" from Buffett and other value investors. He has written a book on his investing style: The Dhandho Investor: The Low - Risk Value Method to High Returns.{{Cite web|title=Mohnish Pabrai Thinks India's NBFCs Need To Read Hamlet And Buffett|url=https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/markets/mohnish-pabrai-thinks-indias-nbfcs-need-to-read-hamlet-and-buffett-3080051.html|access-date=2021-02-11|website=Moneycontrol|date=24 October 2018 }} In June 2007, he made headlines by bidding US$650,100 with Guy Spier for a charity lunch with Buffett.{{cite web|url=https://www.cnbc.com/2008/06/25/lunch-with-warren-buffett-worth-every-penny-at-650100.html |title=Lunch With Warren Buffett 'Worth Every Penny' at $650,100 |author=Alex Crippen |publisher=CNBC |date=2008-06-25 |access-date=2015-10-11}}
Another book by Pabrai is Mosaic: Perspectives on Investing. In this book, Pabrai has distilled the Warren Buffett method of investing down to a few points. These points are made in a series of articles he authored for various newsletters and web sites between 2001 and 2003 (the book reprints these articles in reverse chronological order).
Pabrai's approach to life is covered extensively in Guy Spier's book, The Education of a Value Investor, in particular in a chapter titled "Doing Business the Buffett-Pabrai Way".{{Cite book|title = The Education of a Value Investor|last = Spier|first = Guy|publisher = St. Martin's Press|year = 2014|isbn = 978-1137278814}}
