Monaco at the 1988 Winter Olympics

Born in 1958, Notari made his debut and only participation in the Winter Olympics in the 1998 Games.{{cite web|url=https://www.olympics.com/en/athletes/fabrice-notari|title=Fabrice Notari|work=Olympics.com|access-date=1 June 2024}} In the men's super-G event at the Games, he crossed the {{cvt|2327|m}} course in just over two minutes and 11 seconds to finish 54th amongst the 57 finishers.{{cite web|url=https://www.olympedia.org/results/1357|title=Alpine skiing, Men's super-G|work=Olympedia|access-date=1 June 2024}} In the giant slalom event, he clocked 1:27.14 in the first run and did slightly better with a time of 1:25.01 in the second run. Bobsleigh competitions were held at the Olympic Park in Calgary.{{cite web|url=https://www.olympedia.org/editions/43/sports/BOB|title=Bobsleigh|work=Olympedia|access-date=1 June 2024}} Albert Grimaldi and Gilbert Bessi represented Monaco in the two-man event. Grimaldi was the son of Rainier III, then prince of Monaco. The 1988 Games marked his debut in the Winter Olympics, and he would go on to represent the nation four more times in the future Winter Games. He served in the navy earlier, and became the prince of Monaco in 2005.{{cite web|url=https://www.olympics.com/en/athletes/albert-grimaldi|title=Albert Grimaldi|work=Olympics.com|access-date=1 June 2024}} Born in 1958, Bessi also made his Olympics debut in the competition. In the event at the Games, the pair clocked a time of 58.48 over the {{cvt|1475|m}} course in their first run to be ranked 17th. However, the team recorded one minute plus lap times in the next three runs to drop down the classification.
