MondoHomo was the love child of Kiki Carr, Ria Pell and Nikki Chotas,[http://www.gaymusicusa.com/apps/store/article.php?article_id=122 Homorevolution In The Southern Voice]{{dead link|date=February 2018 |bot=InternetArchiveBot |fix-attempted=yes }} and was inspired by Olympia, Washington's Homo-a-Gogo Festival.
MondoHomo Dirty South 2008[http://www.sovo.com/2008/5-16/arts/feature/8559.cfm Mondo Memorial - Southern Voice Atlanta] took place over Memorial Day weekend in Atlanta. In addition to HomoHop, MondoHomo featured 5 days of radical queer punk, rock, DJs, spoken word, drag, burlesque, visual art, games and workshops.
