Montaluce Winery & Estates was established as a winery-based community in Dahlonega, Georgia, {{convert|40|mi|km}} north of Atlanta in 2007 by a partnership between Atlanta-based Beecham Builders, Greenway Development and Harrison Design Associates and featured Tuscan-styled architecture. Lots began at $70,000 and homes at $370,000 with a goal to finish the 400 acre project within five to six years.{{cite news |last1=Shevory |first1=Kristina |title=Buying Into the Vineyard Lifestyle |url=https://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/05/travel/escapes/05wineries.html |access-date=13 July 2021 |work=The New York Times |date=5 September 2008}} However, the project suffered from the economic fallout of the Great Recession and it went up for auction in 2014.{{cite news |agency=Associated Press |title=Montaluce vineyard in Georgia to be auctioned next month |url=https://www.jacksonville.com/article/20140526/NEWS/801254512 |access-date=13 July 2021 |work=The Florida Times-Union |date=26 May 2014 |language=en}}
